ABOUT
ANGAZA

In view of ILFA’s overall commitment to legal training and capacity building and given the overwhelming need in Africa for comprehensive continuous legal education, the Angaza web-based, training platform was created. Angaza is a Swahili word that means ‘shining bright” which feeds into ILFA’s Angaza mission to equip lawyers from across Africa with the tools and know-how required to deliver excellent legal services both in Africa and beyond. Launched in 2016, Angaza is ILFA’s one-stop platform for lawyers practising in Africa. It delivers affordable, accessible training through a video-on-demand, online training programme plus value-added resources such as a free law resource, practice notes, standard documents, legal updates and blogs.

We currently have in excess of 40 courses available to subscribers on our training platform. Courses run from 20 minutes to 70 minutes and are supported by PowerPoint slides and video. They are all accessible online on smartphones or computers. Courses range in subject matter from mediation and trade finance to personal skills such as time management and communication skills.

Course contributors and tutors are drawn from ILFA’s extensive network of lawyers in London, Paris, Dubai and from across the African continent. Educational providers such as LexisNexis and Loan Market Association also support Angaza through the provision of relevant content to our users.
